I am honored to share that I have been recognized as both a Microsoft Excel MVP and a Microsoft Access MVP.
( To be awarded in both Excel and Access is rare, currently there are estimated to be around 20 people worldwide with this combination. )
The Award Shows My Focus: Relational Solutions in Excel 365 w/ Power Query
Looking ahead to 2027, I will continue to push Power Query and Excel 365 to new levels by leveraging Tables as Data Forms, building relational Excel solutions, and expanding my use of M-Code and the Excel Data Model.
My focus remains 100% automation — creating scalable solutions ( FLUID Excel Solutions w/ Power Query ) that can be deployed through platforms such as Microsoft Teams and SharePoint. Solutions anyone can easily use.
An Honor to Receive Dual MVP awards in Excel and Access.
I have always considered myself first and foremost a database programmer. My traditional career has focused on designing data-driven solutions for business using Microsoft Access, SQL Server, and SSRS. Excel was where I sent the data for Reporting and Analysis — applying database principles to solve real-world business challenges.
My Excel and Access journey began in 1985 when I started programming Microsoft Excel on the Mac in version 1.0. Over nearly four decades later, I have developed sophisticated business solutions using Excel, Access, SQL Server and now, Power Query.

In 2004, I founded Excel and Access, LLC, where we build custom solutions for business, government and education. Over the years, we have had the privilege of working with organizations including Microsoft, LinkedIn, IBM, the University of Southern California (USC), the U.S. Navy, and the American Red Cross, along with many other organizations across the USA, UK, and Canada.
We work with government entities from the US Navy, Army, Airforce, and more.

While my foundation was built with Microsoft Access and SQL Server, today I focus on using Excel 365 as a solution platform. We combine relational database concepts with modern Excel capabilities to create powerful business applications.

At Excel and Access, LLC, we specialize in creating relational solutions in Excel 365 using Power Query, Excel Tables, The Excel Data Model, and vba automation. By applying database design principles — including structured tables, relationships, and query-driven workflows — we build flexible Excel solutions that manage data, support business processes, and provide users with powerful yet accessible tools.
We have also developed innovative approaches using Power Query Tables as Forms, allowing Excel Tables and Power Query workflows to become an effective user interface for relational business applications. ( See below )
